I love to teach...just about anything!  Jewelry, Computer Skills, Website Design

Making a Spinner Ring

Are you interested in learning a new skill?  I am a patient and thorough instructor, and I offer the following classes:

  • Fused glass lessons & projects

  • Beginning metalworking/jewelry
  • Basic jewelry photography
  • Website creation & social media for artists
  • SketchUp (CAD) for glass artists and woodworking design
  • Video editing (iMovie, Final Cut Pro)

Private Lessons

I'm available for fused glass and beginning jewelry private lessons in the Austin area.  I enjoy teaching students at all levels—from absolute beginners to students who are looking to expand their knowledge past the basics.  If you've already taken a beginning glass class, and are looking to learn more specialized techniques, send me a message and let's get together!  I also enjoy working with glass artists looking to incorporate their glass into bezel or prong settings.  Set your work apart from the crowd!  Prices start at $25 an hour, or $125 a day.  Students can provide their own materials, or materials can be provided for an additional fee.

Girl's Night Out

Looking for something new to do with your girlfriends one evening?  I can tailor an activity that will provide you and your friends with an unforgettable jewelry or glass experience!  Each party girl will create an individual project that can be picked up or shipped after fusing.  Pricing depends on the number of participants and type of project.

Looking to learn how to photograph your jewelry?  Bring a few pieces of jewelry, and learn how to create professional photos for juried show entries and marketing.  Half-day session includes photography of 3-4 pieces of jewelry and recommendations on next steps, $95.  Includes basic Photoshop instruction.

Make Your Own Website

Website Creation and Social Media for Artists

Take a day with Kat to learn how to get your web site up and running, including eCommerce and obtaining your own domain name.  As a former trainer for Apple, Kat can help you navigate the technical parts with ease.  Students bring their own photos, although this class is great when combined with the photography class.  You'll develop two versions of your website, which means you'll have the ability to UPDATE your own site, adding events, items for sale, and an artist's statement.  Full day session, $150.

This class is also available as a leader-led class at your retail location or studio.

Getting Started with Etsy

Interested in getting up and running with Etsy?  Learn how to set up your shop, create listings, choose keywords, and link to your Etsy shop from your website, Facebook, or WordPress site.  Half-day session, $75
